This day nursery for 80 children is arranged over two floors of a commercial building close to Wimbledon railway station.
The existing building, which over its lifetime has included a car workshop, photography studio and art college, will be completely refurbished internally and externally.
The building is on a very constrained site. Through a considered design we provided a mixed use scheme with the top floor becoming two generous private apartments served by a dedicated entrance.
The nursery has generous glazing to the front and rear and a new rear extension and private playground.
Using sensible and intelligently designed up grades we will transform a tired building into a first class nursery and high value apartments for the rental market.
The sensitive planning issues of acoustics and traffic have been carefully coordinated with the wider consultant team to overcome sensitive planning issues. The project is due for completion in late 2017.
