A classical response to an industrial context
Echo House is a new headquarters for a newspaper company that reflects the new ways of working for the industry. It is a digital company and requires a new fit for purpose building that will enable the company to continue publishing in the 21st Century.
The brief called for a budget conscious building that maximized the built form on a con-strained out of town industrial site. In common with the surrounding buildings, our response has been to create a simple rectangular form that has been designed as an object in space. The building is almost classical in form and dominates the site. The building façades have been subdivided using brick fins and glazed panels to create a regular rhythm to forming a unified and composed whole.
